Singhare Ki Sabji Recipe: With the arrival of monsoon, water chestnut starts appearing in the markets. Singra is very beneficial for health. It is fat free, cholesterol free and gluten free food. Water chestnut grows in water and is eaten dry or powdered. It contains very little sodium and a lot of starch is found in it. Ingredients for making Watermelon Vegetable

Water chestnut – 1/2 kg
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Cumin – 1 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/4 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp
Green chili paste – 1/2 tsp
Kasuri methi – 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 2 tbsp
Salt – as per taste

How to make Watermelon Vegetable
To make water chestnut vegetable, first of all take water chestnut and peel it and take out the white part inside it. Now clean them and keep them aside in a bowl. After this, chop finely pieces of onion and tomato. Now put onions and tomatoes in a mixer jar and grind them and prepare their paste. Now put oil in a pan and keep it to heat on medium flame.

When the oil becomes hot, add cumin seeds to it. When cumin starts crackling, add onion and tomato paste and fry it. After some time add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder and green chili paste and fry it with a ladle. After frying the gravy for 4-5 minutes, oil will start touching. When the gravy starts leaving oil, add water chestnut and mix it well. If you want, you can also make pieces of water chestnut according to your choice.

When the water chestnut mixes well with the gravy, cover the pan and cook for 4-5 minutes. After this add garam masala, kasoori fenugreek and salt as per taste and mix it. Switch off the gas after sometime. Your delicious and healthy water chestnut vegetable is ready. It can be eaten for lunch or dinner at any time. The vegetable can be served with roti, naan or paratha.
