Richard Mille RM UP-01: World’s thinnest watch, buying a bank account will be empty

New Delhi. Richard Mille, known for innovating with cutting-edge materials in his sports watches, launched the world’s thinnest watch last week. Some of these have been endorsed by Rafael Nadal. This watch is so thin that it can be compared to the thickness of a card.

The RM UP-01 weighs only 30 grams, which includes the strap. It took about 6,000 hours to develop it. The watch has a power reserve of 45 hours. Its price is $ 1,888,000 i.e. more than Rs 14 crore in Indian currency.

Grade 5 titanium used
The skeletonised ridges and balance wheel are made of grade 5 titanium on the base plate of the RM UP-01. Ultra thin mechanism has been used in the watch. Its mechanism has been developed in collaboration with watchmakers Audemars Piguet and Renaud & Papi.

Waterproof watch
Richard Mille has claimed that the clock has been made in 6000 hours. It also gets a titanium balance wheel and a unique system. The Richard Mille RM UP-01 Ferrari watch is also waterproof up to a depth of 10 metres. It has a power reserve of 45 hours and is thinner than the rubber strap that comes with the watch.

The watch has a thickness of 1.75 millimeters
The design of this watch is one of the sleekest in the world. The thickness of this watch is only 1.75 mm. The company has teamed up with Audemars Piguet and Renaud & Papi watchmakers to develop its internal mechanism, which is just 1.18 mm thick. Its weight is only and only 2.82 grams. At present only 150 units of the watch have been made.
