Review of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 is much better. Since technology cannot advance as fast as makers are bringing new versions of their phones, this formula has been used for years. However, the new Z Flip4 isn’t likely to make many Z Flip3 owners upgrade, but it adds enough improvements to make people think about getting it.

Samsung has improved on the Galaxy Z Flip3 by improving its lowlight camera performance, battery life, and charging speed, all of which are weak points discussed by reviewers and users. With the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Z Flip4 gets to boast the most recent Android chip.

Similar to the Z Flip3, the Galaxy Z Flip4 has an internal Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen and an external Super AMOLED screen. A flatter aluminum frame and reduced bezels around the foldable screen make the Z Flip4 a bit shorter and lighter.

Despite having a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1200 nits, Foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2X remains equally bright. There will be a crease in the middle and a perforation for the selfie camera for now.

Only Samsung’s third and fourth generation of foldable devices are IPX8-rated for water resistance. We appreciate Samsung and Sony’s attempts to offer water protection on most of their phones.

Along with the chipset upgrade, the Galaxy Z Flip4 also features an upgraded camera system. It still has two cameras, but it has been upgraded to a 12-megapixel sensor with 1.8-million pixels and a 24-mm lens with optical image stabilization. Compared to the previous sensor, this new one should gather 65% more light and improve low-light performance by 65%. Flip3 retains its 12MP ultrawide and 10MP selfie cameras.

Compared to the Galaxy Z Flip3, the Galaxy Z Flip4 is powered by a larger battery – a 3,700mAh cell has been added to the battery, up from the 3,300mAh in the Flip3. Additionally, the device now supports a 25W fast charging feature, a significant improvement over the previous 15W. The wireless fast charging has also been sped up, and it is now able to deliver 15 Watts of power.
